REVIEW: Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules

Elemis Skin Bliss Capsules

UPDATE: 30th September 2013

Out of all the anti-ageing products I’ve trialled for Unfading Beauty, this one has been my favourite so far, by a long way! I wasn’t expecting these little oil filled capsules to work their magic in a mere 5 weeks but they most certainly did.

You know when something’s really working when other people tell you how well you look and that happened to me three weeks into the trial.

I’ve explained below how I used them in the TIPS section and I’m happy to say I didn’t have to change anything. I put the oil onto my fingertips, there’s enough warmth from your fingers to heat the oil. The idea of ‘heating’ the oil is to make the product spread further. I think the oil would be wasted if rubbed between your palms.

As I thought, I couldn’t apply the pink rose capsules in the mornings as directed, as my make up literally slid off and my face was very shiny,  I’m very glad I didn’t now anyway as I managed to stretch the capsules to five weeks instead of four.

Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules

Stunning actually. I have mild Rosacea and high colouring so I’m always a little cautious when trying a new product in case it causes my skin to flare up. I did read a few reviews from people who said they had some break outs, but I’m happy to say I didn’t have any. There also wasn’t any irritation and I noticed a slight decrease with flushing and redness.

I’m looking at the ingredients list and I think the ‘star ingredient’ must be the Moringa Oil. I just didn’t think there was enough product (honestly, there is just enough for your whole face) to make such a difference, so quickly.

Because my skin was a lot smoother and the pores not as vivid, it meant that my foundation went on like a dream, also when your skin’s good, you need less make up!

When I patted the oil on, I kept it well away from my eyes, I’ve noticed in the past that oils applied at night can seep towards your eyes and irritate them when you sleep because of the warmth of your skin. Because of this, I can’t honestly say the oil reduced the fine lines around my eyes, because it didn’t go near them.

I’m not 100% convinced by the Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream, I ran out after two weeks (must not be so heavy handed!) and used the Nuxuriance® Intense Anti-Aging Re-Densifying Cream (yes, I bought another jar, it’s my second favourite product) over the oil and the results were equally as good. The wonder product is most definitely the oil.

If I wasn’t committed to Unfading Beauty, I would just continue with the Bliss capsules. I will however, be reviewing them again around Christmas time for two very good reasons:

  1. To make sure it wasn’t a fluke and
  2. Actually, I don’t believe it was a fluke and I want to look nice for Christmas!

Talking of Christmas, a jar of these would be a great present from someone to you, drop hints now!

I can’t help myself, I LOVE a product that you have to ‘fiddle’ with. The concept of using these gorgeous, shiny little capsules really appeals to me. There’s a good reason for the glamorous packaging though, because the capsules are sealed there’s no need for any artificial preservative, it maintains its purity. The fragrance from the essential oils used is luxurious too, no artificial rose or lavender scent for these little cuties.

An Anti-Ageing Beauty Bible Award winner, Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules contain pure Moringa Oil with its unique anti-ageing properties to dramatically renew skin elasticity and skin youthfulness.

Moringa’s value has long since been known to the ancients. This may explain why the Egyptians placed vases of Moringa oil in their tombs for use in the afterlife. Its potent antioxidant profile, which gives the oil its remarkable stability, is also the reason it’s included in some of the best skin moisturizers, anti-aging creams, and other skin health products around the world.

Quote from:

Anti-oxidants physically repair the visible signs of ageing and counteract the damaging effects of pollution by sweeping clean your network of skin cells, ridding it of harmful toxins.

Moringa Oil is clinically proven to have up to 1700% more anti-oxidant power than other cosmetic oils and is the secret behind this high performance product.

The skin capsules are colour coded.  Apply the contents of one pink, Rose capsule in the morning to stimulate microcirculation and vitality and one green, Lavender capsule at night to repair the skin and encourage a peaceful night’s sleep.

Twist (snip carefully with scissors) off the tip of the capsule, warm the oil between the palms (fingertips) and smooth (dab) on to cleansed face and neck (might not be enough for neck) using light fingertip massage.

These capsules are expensive, you really don’t want to waste a drop. Unlike Trilogy Rosehip Oil, which I found to be a ‘dry’ oil as it absorbed too fast to apply fully, the oil in the capsules stay oily. There is just enough to cover the whole face. Holding the capsule gently – don’t squeeze or the oil will spill out when it’s cut open, carefully snip open the top part and apply to face with fingertips (fingers are warm enough), then pat gently onto the face.

The cellular skin capsules are brilliant for my mature skin- the green night time ones are excellent for alternating with oxygenating night cream but are also perfect on their own if one wishes to travel light!

After a face treatment at a SPA the therapist recommended these capsules for my dry, “sensitive” and irritated skin. I decided to give it a go, despite the price. And it actually works. After 2 weeks use the skin look less dry and irritated, and it even feels softer.

I have tried lots of skincare products, but I keep coming back and now staying with Elemis. I have very sensitive skin with high colour. One of the best Elemis products I have used are the Bliss Recovery Capsules. Fantastic. Even after a few days my skin glows and is much clearer.

I had a large pot of these capsules for sometime before using them. I have been a big fan of Elemis especially the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. Have not got good skin, suffer with Rosacea and was afraid to start using another product. Well what a surprise, they are wonderful my skin is radiant, and so smooth, so now these Bliss capsules are part of my Elemis routine.

I am a 40-years old woman and suffered of bad acne when I was young: my skin has never looked radiant, and I have some scarring in my face. These capsules worked wonders for my skin; someone even asked me what I’d done to make my skin look so remarkably better. Best product ever.

I used this product when on a recent cruise in the spa.. I never been so ‘impressed’ with a product, and I have used many! The skin feels lovely, it shines, its fresh and healthy looking and it certainly reduces the redness.

I have been using a 2-week course of the capsules the overall condition and tone of my skin was greatly improved. I do not use these capsules every day due mainly to the cost, but also I don’t feel that I need to, I have treated myself to them every couple of months to keep my skin looking great.

Been a while since I did a full 30 day bliss course. One week in and my skin looks amazing, I started getting a spotty chin today, but this happened the last time I used them, so I know it will clear up in a week.

I have combination skin which can get dehydrated at times. Initially I did have a bit of a spotty breakout but after a few days my skin settled down and looked really smooth, plumped and hydrated, the look of the pores was also much improved.

I used them a long time ago and got a spotty skin, I never get spots, I have a good skin but it is prone to dehydration.

I found that there is not enough liquid in each capsule and although I dropped the liquid into the palm of my hand and warmed it as shown, by the time I tried to put it on the skin the liquid had evaporated and there was hardly enough to even do my brow never mind the whole face and neck. To do this I had to use three capsules, and it did absolutely nothing to my skin.

I saw another review that said there’s not enough product in each capsule and I did agree at first. I wondered how on earth they would cover my face, neck and décolleté. But now I’ve got the hang of it. I warm the product between my hands and rub them together until the serum is silky smooth. Then gently press onto the skin and massage in. they smell absolutely divine and are a pleasure to use, but I wouldn’t bother unless they delivered results…and they do.

I have waited ages to use these capsules. I understood that my skin might get worse before it got better when using these so I waited. I am so happy with the results. I have pretty good skin anyway but it looks a lot better after using these. The skin is really smooth and flawless.

I just found a jar that someone must have given me eons ago that I shoved to the back of the cupboard – for no good reason I’ve never really explored or been enamoured with Elemis. Have only used 3 capsules so far but loving it.

I was really surprised by the results. There are after all, only tiny amounts of oil. I’ve nearly finished the whole 60 capsules so I’ll write up a review soon.

When more than one person tells you that your skin is looking good, then you know you’re doing something right.
