French skincare company Typology Paris is a relatively new brand, its credentials though are impeccable because it was created by Ning Li, one of the co-founders of furniture company Made. His ethos for Typology is similar, luxury at an affordable price.
Typology’s range of products is extensive, with everything from moisturisers to hair care to makeup and perfume, with the emphasis firmly on skincare concerns.
This is yet another small business adopting the relatively new ethos of sustainable packaging and meticulously sourced, natural as possible, ingredients.
It makes you wonder when the big boy brands are going to follow suit. Less plastic and fewer ingredients is the way forward now, this is how these small brands are edging in on the competition.
Typology was born from a mission: to demystify skincare with simple, straight-talking transparency. We make naturally active, effective and sustainable skincare in France.
Our philosophy is not to add anything to our products to make them stand out; instead, we pare them back and distil each formula down to the most essential, naturally active ingredients.
Our formulas are simple, considered and effective. Provenance is important to us, so you’ll always know where our ingredients come from. And we’ll even show you how to create your own skincare formulations along the way.
All formulations are 100% French. Our partner laboratories in Bergerac, Aix en Provence and Compiègne work with us to put their French skincare heritage to good use.
I was invited to take their online skin diagnostic test to create my own comprehensive skincare regimen. My top three concerns are redness, undereye darkness and fine lines.
These are the nine products that were recommended to form a routine for my skincare needs and were sent out to me. If I had to purchase them myself the cost would be £143.20.
It’s a lot of skincare, but what appeals to me is that you only need to use a few drops of serum or a dab of moisturiser.
I’ve not really followed a proper skincare routine before. I swap out products all the time because I have so many of them and like you, I assume, keep buying more!

I’m very pleased to see Typology’s famous 9-Ingredient Face Moisturiser included, as it’s a runaway bestseller, along with Unifying Serum 12% Niacinamide for redness and texture concerns. By the way, how many ingredients does your moisturiser have?
I can’t start my personalised routine until I’m back from my holiday. I need to finish up a product I’m testing, but mainly I want something fun to look forward to as we exit summer and begin dreary old September.
However, I will be popping the cleansing bar into my luggage to scent my clothes, the fragrance is gorgeous, lemony without being over lemony – I should write descriptions for a living really.
I’ll update when every product is used up and will give my verdict.
