How naive was I to think that that disposable micro-needling was a new trend in anti-ageing skincare?
I wrote about Spotlight’s Smile Rejuvenation System here (though I’ve yet to open it, I’m waiting for some quiet me-time) but I now realise premium skincare brands are already selling disposable microneedle rollers to be used in conjunction with their skincare.
Unlike other reusable derma rollers which prick the skin in order to generate new collagen as the skin heals, the disposable ones are designed to help skincare products reach deeper into skin layers – though there’s only so far serum/creams can penetrate.
I was interested in the Sarah Chapman Meso-Melt system but was put off by the price. Scrolling through Look Fantastic (looking to buy more stuff I don’t really need, but want) I found the system at a really great price. * (1/12/21). Price is back up to £138.00
SARAH CHAPMAN SKINESIS MESO-MELT INFUSION SYSTEM
Achieve the illusion of firmer, plumper looking skin with Sarah Chapman Skinesis’ Meso-Melt Infusion System. The ingenious treatment combines the innovative Meso-Melt Infusion Roller with the luxurious Pep⁸ Stem Cell Serum, allowing you to experience a salon-worthy process from the comfort of your own home.
The needling tip of the roller is coated with Sarah Chapman’s signature Platinum Matrix-EM, along with a potent trio of peptides and Hyaluronic Acid of high and low molecular weights. All these components work in unison to promote the appearance of a smoother, more youthful complexion, with the look of fine lines and wrinkles visibly reduced.
HOW TO USE
Once a week in the evening (sounds like this is going to make the skin very pink) for a 21-day period.
Step 1. Cleanse the skin, then ensure skin is completely dry before continuing.
Step 2. Using firm but not intense pressure, roll Meso-Melt Infusion Roller with needling tip across the face, neck and décolletage for 10 minutes, moving vertically, horizontally and diagonally.
Step 3. Tap the serum into the base of the ampoule. Cover the top of the thin glass ampoule with a tissue and carefully snap to open at the point indicated by the ring on the neck.
Step 4. Apply contents of the ampoule to the skin, wait 10 seconds, then continue rolling to activate the microneedles.
Step 5. Treatment is complete when all needles on the roller have fully dissolved.

MORE (SLIGHTLY PUZZLING) SHOPPING INFO
As far as I can tell from the description and product photos, this consists of everything in the starter kit above apart from the roller handle.
So why wouldn’t you just buy two starter kits? I hope I haven’t missed anything glaringly obvious because that’s exactly what I’ve just done.
