Hair care brands are jumping on the bandwagon with their own versions of pre-shampoo conditioners (Kersatase are doing just that with their Resistance Therapiste range, review on its way), but Phillip Kingsley’s Elasticizer was first and to my mind, the best.
It might seem odd to use a conditioner before shampoo, but Elasticizer prepares, conditions and softens hair before you wash it.
As soon as you rinse it off, you can feel an immediate difference. A nice bonus is that whatever shampoo you use afterwards will lather up very quickly, so you need to use much less product.
ELASTICIZER BY PHILLIP KINGSLEY
This award-winning pre-shampoo hair mask delivers a rush of moisture to the hair. “If I want to pamper my hair, Elasticizer leaves it feeling fantastic,” says Kate Winslet.
HOW TO USE
Before washing, wet hair thoroughly and apply Elasticizer to hair in sections, paying particular attention to the mid lengths and ends. Work-in thoroughly with fingertips for one minute.
For maximum benefit cover hair and leave for 20 to 30 minutes (I always do this, the tubs come with a plastic shower cap). Shampoo and rinse twice, before conditioning as usual.
This Philip Kingsley Elasticizer is a brilliant product for my highlighted hair which is quite porous, dry and brittle in some places. After using this my feels amazingly soft and much stronger. I highly recommend this if you have thirsty hair in need of a bit of TLC.
Love this product, it really does improve the texture of your hair. I have fine but frizzy hair & have tried virtually every hair care product over the years. This is the only one that works. Expensive but you only need a small amount.
Fabulous! I have my hair highlighted every 6 weeks and this product makes my blonde tresses feel like “hair” again. It really brings back the shine, hasn’t faded my highlights and seems to add weightless volume. Doesn’t make your hair feel greasy afterwards unlike some other “hair repair” treatments and lasts ages.
I have super-fine, bottle assisted blonde hair that is subject to a 4 week colour cycle and much heat styling. It’s prone to breakage, shedding, frizz, dullness, dryness, the list goes on! This product counteracts all the horrendous things I put my hair through. Too much and your hair will feel heavy and sticky. YES!
The EXTREME version is just that, it’s a richer formula with a warning not to use it 3 days before or 3 days after chemical processing.
I have the regular and the extreme versions and use them on and off 10 days before highlighting (to prep my hair) and 10 days after to maintain moisture levels.
Feel Unique always have Elasticizer on offer.
At the moment (18/8/16) they have Philip Kingsley Elasticizer 10 x 40ml Piece Kit for £22.50
