REVIEW: Barry M In The Buff Eyeshadow Palette £4.87 – £6.99

Rushing this post out because I’ve just seen the palette on sale on Amazon UK  for £4.87. I bought mine from Boots for £6.99 which is a very good price, but £4.87 is tremendous value.

Create soft daytime looks to smouldering smokey evening looks with this must-have eyeshadow palette. Including 10 ultra-bendable matte and shimmer shades, this neutral palette is your new go-to.

Barry M In The Buff Eyeshadow Palette

It’s fair to say ‘In the Buff’ is the budget version of the Urban Decay Naked palettes, the pans are small though at 0.7g each, but then look at the price.

The palette itself is made from stiff cardboard, so it’s going to get grubby very quickly and feels lightweight in the hand. This is a tiny niggle though, because the range of neutral shimmery but mostly matt, shades are gorgeous, they blend nicely and complement each other well ie there are no dud shades.

The pigment is pretty good, with the darkest shades being the strongest. The eyeshadows are soft without being powdery, and as a lot of reviewers have said, fallout is minimal, not bad for such a reasonably priced product.

There’s a lot of looks to squeeze out of this palette – ranging from daytime to natural ‘no make up’ make up and a smouldering smokey eye using the four rich chocolatey colours.

The shimmer shades are not strong enough for a glam evening look, they lack punch, but what they are perfect for, is dotting on the inner corners of eyes to make them sparkle. It’s an old trick, but works particular well with these shades purely because the shimmer is so subtle.

The shades are also more vibrant than the promo images suggest – see my photo below.
