Repeat Buys

I suppose you could call this an ’empties’ post (I love watching those vids on YouTube). These are the 10 products I’ve recently repurchased and half of them cost less than a fiver.

They all do their job and the two most expensive items, the Becca blusher and HD Brows set, last forever, so I like to think that balances out the hefty price tag.

I’m always happy to try new products, but there’s no substitutes for these.

NYX Professional Make Up Jumbo Eye Pencil ‘Milk’ £5.00 Boots
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk

A radiant eye liner that also doubles as an eyeshadow.

Made with a blend of mineral oil and powder our creamy Jumbo Eye Pencils glide on effortlessly, no pulling tugging or fading and come in a rainbow of vivid hues.

I use this a primer for my eyelids, not only does it ‘pop’ any shade applied on top, eyeshadow lasts all day without creasing.

Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘n’ Kohl Eye Cheat £19.00 Charlotte Tilbury

Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'n' Kohl Eye Cheat Pencil

Eye Cheat is a universal nude tone to create the optical illusion of wider, fuller and more awake eyes. Use the liquid eye pencil to line the upper and lower waterline and corner with this eye saviour and watch as your eyes miraculously appear bigger and brighter.

I love this pencil – and I’ve tried lots of nude eyeliners. This is the most natural, flattering shade, and applied inside the waterline, eyes look whiter and yes, brighter. I used it once on my upper waterline and it looked a bit odd.

The only downside is that because the pencil is so soft (the ‘liquid’ part I guess), it melts and makes a mess when you put the lid back on. It gunks up along the pencil and is an absolute pain to keep clean.

MacQueen New York Waterproof Gel Eyeliner £2.69

Waterproof gel-type eyeliner creates a smooth, even application with its jelly-like, creamy texture. Apply with a brush for more precise application.

An absolute find for me. I have the gorgeous Cherry Blossom shade which I would describe as a shimmery rose gold. The formula is perfect, not too hard or soft, and it stays put all day.

I’m on the site now and at £2.69 each, I’m going to buy the other shades as well.

Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Leave-In Conditioner £3.99 (price drop 13/4/17) Boots

Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Hair Healer Leave-In Conditioner

Intensely nourishing lightweight gel crème conditioner. With Argan oil to restore damage, Coconut oil to strengthen, Abyssinian oil to moisturise, Tsubaki oil to restore sheen and Macadamia oil to add softness.

I use this before blow drying my hair to guarantee softness. I apply different products as well (just because I’ve got a lot of them), but this is an essential if I want silky hair.

Only a small amount is needed though, if you’re too heavy-handed – I speak from experience, it will flatten hair and any style will instantly drop.

Pearl Drops Instant White Plus £3.33 Boots

Pearl Drops Instant White Plus

The unique blend of polishing agents in the 4D whitening system accelerates whiteness and helps lift stains and plaque whilst the Pro-Shine complex and gentle pink dye gives an instant optical whitening effect and gloss, perfect for a finishing touch.

I have definitely seen an ongoing whitening improvement using this tooth polish, but make sure you don’t mix it up with other tubes, they work, but not half as well as this ones does.

Becca Beach Tint in ‘Watermelon’ £20.00 SpaceNK

Mecca Beach Tint

This streak-free, non-greasy lip and cheek stain can be used on its own or with powder blushes, bronzers, lip balms and lip glosses for added intensity.

An expensive blusher, a mere 7ml for £20.00, but this fruity scented tint really does last forever, you need only the tiniest dot for a vibrant flush of colour on cheeks. Be careful not to keep the tube anywhere it could get hot, as it can become slightly runny and could separate.

Watermelon is a flattering shade, not too red or too pink, but then, there are 8 shades to choose from, so all skin tones are covered. I should note that the Watermelon swatch on the SpaceNK site is too insipid, it’s much more vibrant.

Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Overnight Ultimate Hair Healer 200ml £6.99 Boots

Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Overnight Ultimate Hair Healer

Give thirsty hair the ultimate hydration with this concentrated blend of Argan, Abyssinian, Coconut, Tsubaki and Macadamia oils for long-lasting nourishment.

I haven’t run out of this, there’s still a fair bit of product left (plus, I’m going to cut the tube down and scoop out the last dregs), but I just don’t want to be without it. I use a few big blobs about 3 times a week and the 200ml tube has held me for about 5 months.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19 Boots

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

Conceals flaws, imperfections and blemishes for up to 16 hours. Water-resistant and transfer proof.

This is a ‘cult’ product (with good reason) and is almost impossible to find in Boots, so I’ve always had to buy mine online.

It’s not half bad as a concealer, but because it’s water-resistant, I use it over the edge of my lips before lip liner to stop the dreaded lipstick bleed.  I’ve run out of it and my lipstick has seeped into lines a few times so this is an emergency buy!

The tube design is awful. All the black text will rub off after a couple uses and the concealer clogs up at the opening.

HD Brows Palette in ‘Foxy‘ £24.99 Treat Your Skin

HD Brows

Each Eye & Brow Palette includes a highlighting shade, two intensifying brow shades, wet/dry carbon-black definer, setting wax and a versatile applicator.

Apply powders using the dual ended applicator to create a soft or natural look, finish with the setting wax for a more defined appearance.

This is only my third palette and I see they’ve changed the design to include a setting wax. This is the first time I’ve bought the new palette (it’s on its way), and I’m hoping the shades are identical to the original ones and more importantly, they’re as long-lasting.

I use the medium brown shade for my brows and the carbon shade – dabbed on with a Mac 212 brush, as upper lid eyeliner, it doesn’t budge and is still the best eyeliner I’ve ever used.

Koelf Gold & Royal Jelly Eye Patches 60pcs £10.63 (price drop at 13/4/17)

Hydrogel eye patch is enriched with gold and royal jelly to firm, smooth and brighten the delicate eye area. The drop-shaped hydrogel patch attaches to skin firmly and allows for efficient absorption of moisture and nutrients.

I use these patches when I’m blow drying my hair (they stay put), it means my eye area looks and feels ironed out when I apply my make up.

I don’t know whether to get the same ones again or try other the other versions.
