As a self-confessed fan of collagen drinks, I’m always up to trial new formulations. I understand that some schools of thought (and indeed studies), say they make no difference whatsoever, but I have always seen tangible results. I’m not alone either, collagen drinks and supplements are a billion pound industry.
I’m nearing the end of a 3 month trial of Golden Greens® Expert Collagen Complex.
Expertly formulated for women, with skin firming Collagen that helps to support elasticity and shields your skin against visable signs of ageing. It’s made with Naticol® hydrolysed marine collagen powder and high strength hyaluronic acid.
Together in a unique formulation of skin-loving vital organic nutrients bursting with antioxidants and organic vitamin C, which contributes to the normal function of skin, and collagen formation.
Our Collagen Complex is free from all artificial additives, sweeteners and preservatives.
HOW TO USE
Add 10g (2 x tsp) to water, fruit juice or smoothies and mix well.
Naticol®, a patented blend of fish collagen peptides, was shown in French research to help reduce skin ageing and improve firmness.
Specifically, the double-blind, placebo-controlled study, published in the Journal of Ageing Research & Clinical Practice, found that oral ingestion of Naticol® on a daily basis for 8 weeks, helped to reduce wrinkles by over 20%.
Collagen Complex is packaged in what looks like a study brown paper bag, but it’s actually foil lined inside with a self seal to keep the contents fresh. I’ve noticed that some reclosable seals are hard to line up when they’ve been in use for a while, it’s only a little thing, but you do want to keep the contents fresh and air tight; I’m happy to say you’re still able to properly seal the bag after using it for a month.
The fine powder is a dark purple colour and because of the absence of added sweeteners and additives, it doesn’t really taste of anything. I did mix it with water for a week, but I’ve found two teaspoons added to smoothies works well; it’s so versatile, you can add the powder to any drink.
I don’t have smoothies on a regular basis, so what I now do is add my two teaspoons to my daily Lean Greens shake. It’s true that the dark green powder of Lean Greens mixed with purple Golden Greens produces a murky black drink, but honestly, there’s no real taste and since I’ve started using Golden Greens I feel I’ve stepped up my anti-ageing game.
After 3 weeks, my nails really started to grow and are now super white and strong, but then again, I expected that!
However, my skin after 9 weeks (admittedly, this took longer to kick in), definitely feels softer, without a hint of dryness – summer and winter dries my skin out and my eyes are bright and clear.
I do have the inevitable sprinkling of lines around my eyes – summer’s harsh unforgiving light is not my friend. One particular line was deeper than the others (isn’t that a horrible shock when it happens?) but this line has now noticeably softened and that’s exactly what I was looking for.
As with any anti-ageing routine, you really do have to commit and be patient waiting for results, although Collagen Greens is as easy and fast as it gets.
If you think the name sounds familiar, Golden Greens also produce Organic Prebiotic Inulin Fibre which was featured in BBC’s How to Stay Young.
