Elemis Pro-Collagen Overnight Matrix

Elemis Pro-Collagen Overnight Matrix

I mentioned this night cream in a previous post and really, the hype surrounding it has been insane, aided and abetted in no small part by India Knight of The Times’ Style magazine, who said:

Put it this way: I would not be without this cream. I only think that about a product about three times a year.

High praise indeed and it’s justified, because finally, here’s a product that lives up to its promises. You should notice a difference the first time you use it and that never happens.

Harnessing a powerful blend of Padina Pavonica, NEW Drone Peptide Technology, Microalgae and Wild Indigo Oligosaccharides, this revolutionary formula works throughout the night to help restore the natural balance to the skin, creating a protective matrix to help seal in hydration. A youthful, firmer feeling, less crumpled appearance is revealed by the morning.

It’s fair to say Overnight Matrix is a full on treatment and not a ‘mere’ night cream.

HOW TO USE

To be used every evening, before bed. After cleansing and toning, warm a pea sized amount between the palms and gently glaze over the face, neck and décolleté. Always use upward stroking sweeping motions when applying moisturiser to the face. Avoid direct contact with eyes.

Gently glaze – ie don’t rub it in, let it sit on top of your skin. It’ll sink in when your skin warms up.

THE CLAIMS

Wake up with a visibly firmer, smoother and more youthful complexion.

REVIEW

This is easy, it’s the best night cream I’ve ever used. I bought another jar at the airport, just in case the hype went into overdrive and I didn’t have a back up.

It has a cream/gel texture and the fragrance is part spa, part medicinal. It doesn’t feel, or smell like any other Elemis anti-ageing cream. I know everyone loves Elemis Marine Cream, but for whatever reason, it didn’t suit me, I didn’t like the smell and it felt an effort to use it. Although Marine Cream is now formulated with SPF30 – other manufacturers take note – ALL day moisturisers need a high SPF as standard.

My skin in the morning is ‘softer’ looking, ie the fine lines look softer, and my face feels more perky. I’m reducing usage to 3 times a week in case ‘my skin gets used to it’ – I’m not sure that’s a real thing, but I’m not taking any chance.

It works best (for me at least), if it’s used alone. Nothing under or over it.

The price, £145.00 for a 50ml jar, is probably pitched right for this ‘wonder’ product. I mentioned in my Elemis offer post that shopping around could save you a massive chunk of money. Those offers have gone now – no surprise, but Feel Unique regularly chop 15% from the price, so keep an eye out.
