Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick Review here: If you buy any shade, make it the versatile Taupe.
FOUNDATIONS
I might think again about BB foundations using my own guide to nail the perfect shade and if you’ve made a horrible mistake, you can return it free of charge.
BLUSHER
I’ve not reviewed this on here, but I’ve been using Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks since the beginning of the year in shade Powder Pink.
Not a shade I’d naturally be drawn to, but it was featured by make up artist Caroline Barnes, she has similar colouring as me, and I’d read the rave reviews so I thought I’d try it. I wasn’t disappointed, although I wouldn’t call it a light pink at all, more a neutral pink.
I use it as ‘insurance’ under other blusher shades ie bright ones in summer, deeper shades come winter. I know if the colour on top wears/disappears, I’ll have a flattering pop of ‘real blush’ colour underneath.
It’s a cream blush, that’s not particularly creamy, or glossy as the online swatch at Bobbi Brown’s website might imply. I dab my blusher blush into it to pick up colour and dab again onto cheeks so I don’t overdo it. It has a strong pigment and I’m certain if I used a sweeping motion, I’d venture into clown face territory. A little goes far.
NEW PRODUCTS THAT CAUGHT MY EYE
Luxe Eye Shadow £27.00 Other shades available, but why bother when you look this one! No wonder it’s a best-seller already.
An all-new multidimensional metallic eye shadow formula designed to give eyes instant incandescence. In three new lustre, metal and sparkle finishes, this molten shadow can be applied dry for instant impact or applied with a damp brush for a liquid metal look.
Much as I love this, I think I’m just a tad too old for it. I used to wear a lot of sparkly pink/gold eyeshadow when I was younger – it was the 80s, it was the law! There is no doubt this shade would be absolutely stunning, especially over Christmas, but I think that even though I do wear an iridescent shadow on my lids – Mac Gleam, I wouldn’t be using enough of this eyeshadow to justify the price, even with 20% off.
What I WILL buy is this: SKIN RELIEF – CALMING ALGAE COMPLEX 14ml £30.00
Created for sensitive, stressed and reactive skin, this intensive solution visibly reduces redness and the impact of stress on skin. By calming skin, Skin Relief helps to prevent skin issues like dark spots, wrinkles and sagging.
WHO’S IT FOR?
Anyone with skin that’s irritated, red or ruddy. CHECK
HOW TO USE
Apply 2-3 drops on clean skin twice a day.
There are further instructions about using it with other Bobbi Brown skin care products, but I prefer to use one product at a time, especially if it’s a new one.
