There were two products at the Nu Skin, Nu Colour Cosmetics launch I really wanted to review after trailing them at the event, so I kindly asked for them to be sent to me.
Defining Effects Smooth Eye Liner glides right on, smooth and easy, giving you complete control. Its gentle, creamy consistency makes it easy to achieve any makeup effect: fine, precise lines; softly blended lines; or a smoky, smudged evening look.
“Coffee Bean’ is a rich, dark brown shade. The pencil isn’t hard or soft, yet the line can be precise or smudged.
I always define my lower eyelid with pencil – my eyes disappear otherwise. I’m aware that a solid line can look harsh so I use a pencil to ‘dot’ the eyeliner on, it makes for a softer, more natural look.
On the other hand, used an eyeliner on my upper lids and tilting the pencil slightly, I was able to draw a smooth, thicker line and softly smudge it out.
Our exquisite 5-shade eyeshadow palettes create endless looks with ease. Each palette covers matte with shimmering nuances to enhance your natural features or help you get that intense, dramatic look.
HOW TO USE
Apply dry, or wet on eyelids to intensify the look. For quick and easy retouches, use the included dual-ended brush applicators and mirror.
The official swatches do not do this palette justice. The shades are more pigmented and intense than Nu Skin’s photographs.
The matt silver packaging holds a very generously sized mirror. There are two applicators, one is foam with different sized tips for detailed work, and the other is brush also in two sizes.
The shades have a satin finish when dry, with more intensity when dampened. There’s no fallout and the shades are buildable.
The individual colours aren’t labelled, but the deep peach (second one from the left), and the brown/grey shade (second from the right) really sparkle when applied wet.
Ah, that grey/brown shade, this eyeshadow is the ‘star’ of the palette and very flattering on pale skin. It stays put on the lower lid – I apply it dry. It also works as an eyeliner on the upper lid when applied wet.
