On Friday, I re-ordered another Lip Prime and Plumper, and a bunch of Lip Exfoliators in assorted ‘flavours’ – I rate these highly, plus they’re going to be invaluable during this cold snap when lips chap easily.
I also ordered a few new products:
Baked Blush – Rich Rose £4.50
Already a huge fan of Peachy Cheeky, which screams summer, I wanted to try a more autumnal shade.
Rich Rose is a dark brown rose, with a lot less shimmer than Peachy Cheeky. Again, it’s very sheer, so you do have to build it up. But, it is so very flattering on pale skin (probably not great on darker skin). So, it’s a definite YES from me.
I tried again and drew a couple of ‘dots’ on the middle of my lower lash line – a make up trick to light up the eyes, (from I think, Blake Lively’s make up artist). Notice how her eyes always seem to sparkle? That’s because she wears a glittery eye liner along with her regular eyeliner. This worked brilliantly on me and lasted all day.
I don’t know if anyone remember MAC’s Shadesticks, but I feel this is very similar. There’s a good assortment of shades ranging from Cool Blue Steel to rich, chocolatey Metallic Mocha.
I’m just not sure about these. They have a very dry consistency, although they’re sheer when applied. The pearl one does have tiny shimmery particles, but not enough to show through eyeshadow. Although they did keep my eyeshadow in place, I have a feeling the tubes will dry out very quickly.
Our creamy eyeliner easily applies glitter across your lash line. We’ve also added a built-in sharpener to the cap for crisp lines every time.
This is a complete waste of money. I haven’t even looked into how the sharpener works. I don’t think it’s creamy at all, the line wasn’t smooth, it shed little bits, plus there was no colour payoff. It looks slightly mauve ie ‘holographic’ in the light, but wears off almost immediately into nothing.
As luck would have it, the very day I received my order, e.l.f. rolled out this 50% off promotion. I was a bit miffed and emailed Customer Services saying that I felt tempted to send everything back and buy it all again for £14.25 less. But you know what? As a courtesy, they refunded me £14.25, now THAT’S good customer relations!
