REVIEW: Frederic Fekkai PRx Reparatives 3 Day Transformation

Frederic Fekkai PRx Reparatives 3 Day TransformationThis review has a sting in its tail (or tale, if you like), so I’m keeping it short and bittersweet.

Frederic Fekkai PRx Reparatives 3 Day Transformation

An intensive hair-strengthening regimen that helps protect against future damage. This dual phase leave in conditioner transforms itself to transform hair.

  • Provides immediate results to damaged hair
  • Deeply nourishes and revitalises lifeless hair
  • Leaves hair visibly smooth, shiny and soft
  • Infused with Argan extract
  • Scented by vanilla and crème

In a nutshell, I love Frederic Fekkai products – ALL of them; although Salon Technician Color Care Anti-Fade Top Coat is my all time best buy. My problem is that they’re no longer sold in the UK and I’ve exhausted reliable suppliers on Amazon and eBay.

Imagine then, how pleased I was to discover them on Skinstore the US ‘sister’ site of Look Fantastic. I bought an old favourite, Brilliant Glossing Styling Creme and two 3-Day Transformations Kits.

Experience rich repair for glorious hair with PrX Reparatives 3-Day Transformation, an intensive hair-strengthening regimen that helps protect against future damage. This dual-phase formula transforms itself to transform hair. Protects hair to resist future damage.

HOW TO USE
After washing the hair, shake each vial to blend.
Spray evenly through towel-dried hair and leave in.
Repeat for three consecutive days.

There’s a giant, plastic shower cap included the kit. You leave it on for 10 minutes for your head to warm up, then wash the cap and re-use for further treatments. It’s good quality and made from study plastic, it knocks the sad, thin Phillip Kingsley’s Elasticiser cap into touch. Also, it’s perfect for a Home Steam Treatment because you can easily fit a towel under it.

My hair is playing up again and I really don’t know why – ageing, menopause? I can’t understand it. A couple of weeks ago it was shiny and swishy, and now it’s dull, dry and breaking off.

Delivery took over a week which was to be expected really, and delivery was free because it was over £50.00.

The scent is distinctive, a bit heady, you can really smell the vanilla, but it’s pleasant enough. I saw an immediate difference after combing this treatment through my hair on my first use. It’s not greasy, but it does feel like there’s a coating on the hair. After my blow dry, it looked and felt so much better, with a hint of shine too.

I used it for 3 consecutive hair washes and even though my hair isn’t quite back to its former glory, it’s looking healthier and less flyaway. Moisture has been restored! I’ve also been able to eek out 4 and a half treatments from one bottle.

Great, I thought, I’ll pop this on the blog, it’ll be really helpful for younger and older readers who are at their wits ends with parched, unmanageable hair. After all, 4 x 3-Day Treatments for £20.00 is an absolute bargain. Plus, the clear box comes in handy afterwards.

THE STING

I used a referral code (you can easily find these online, searching Skinstore referral code), and saved 25% on my first order. If I didn’t have the code, the Transformation kit would’ve cost me about £26.00.

When I went to check the price online for this post, I found the cost had doubled to £52.28 PER BOX – which is insane!

I emailed them and said I’d love to buy more at the original price – without the discount of course, and this was their reply:

Thank you for getting in touch about your order. Unfortunately the prices we have online are the only ones we offer.
At £26.00 a box, the kit is definitely worth it, but twice the price? No way.

I’m hoping that on ‘Black Friday’ – 27th November, it’ll be discounted along with Frederic Fekkai Apple Cider Shampoo, Blowout Sealing Serum and Full Volume Foam Conditioner. I bet I’ll end up buying them anyway because I’m weak and tragic when it comes to hair products.
