REVIEW Missha – M Dewy Glossy Eyes (Berry Smoothie)
I spotted this eyeshadow by Korean beauty company Missha, on a YouTube tutorial a while ago. I spent ages trying to track it down without much luck, then discovered by accident, that it’s sold to the UK by YesStyle.com a company I’ve bought from many times – result!
To the naked eye it might seem to be an old-fashioned frosted pink eyeshadow, but that really couldn’t be further from the truth, it’s glossy and contemporary.
M DEWY GLOSSY EYES IN BERRY SMOOTHIE
This shimmery eyeshadow comes in lustrous shades that give eyes an irresistible shimmer.
- Young skin – A perfect slick of gloss on a smooth eyelid
- Mature skin – A touch of sparkle on the middle of the lower eyelid to light up your eyes
- Pale skin tone – Apply OVER shadow as a ‘pop’ of colour
- Dark skin tone – All over the eyelid for a glossy, wet look eye.
It has a soft, gel like consistency. The tiny glitter particles are almost holographic, yet there’s no fallout when applied.
Application is via a clean fingertip only. This eyeshadow absolutely hates brushes, they just make a dent in it and you can’t control placement.
I applied Glossy Eyes over primer – NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk, (best ‘eyelid primer’ ever). Unfortunately, the eyeshadow turned very patchy, so I went back to the drawing board.
I applied it to a bare lid and it vanished into thin air, my lids are just too pale. That said, if you have tanned or dark skin, go for it!
After a little trial and error, I now use a dabbing motion and pat it over Mac Gleam to give my eyes a pop of iridescence that never looks ridiculously glittery. There’s also a subtle sheen that catches the light when you blink your eyes.
Perhaps it’s not an essential part of my eye make up routine, but I now feel lost and unfinished, without it.
Admittedly, this gloss isn’t particular long-lasting, it dials down to a pearlescent finish after about 3 hours. I still love it though!
This is a find! A YouTube channel called Tester Korean. They just get down to it and show off the product, no fuss, ads, chat or waffle.
