REVIEW: MACQUEEN NEW YORK GEL PENCIL, CHERRY BLOSSOM LATTE
I’ve been looking a smudge-proof rose gold eyeliner for ages and now I’ve found it.
The pencil is from a South Korean company, MacQueen New York, and the shade I chose is Cherry Blossom Latte – described as a gold beige, I would say it’s leaning more towards a pale rose gold.
Less harsh than bright gold, rose gold is softer, and used as an under eye liner, it gives mature eyes a flattering glow – more subtle sparkle, than Disco Barbie.
Having said that, this would be perfect on the upper eyelid as a liner on ALL skin tones.
The quality really impresses. The pigment is strong, the line applies smoothly and more importantly, it doesn’t smudge and lasts ALL day.
I’ve spent most of the morning trying to capture this exquisite shade, and, if I do say so myself, I think I’ve finally nailed it – beyond gorgeous!
I bought my pencil from YesStyle for £4.66. P&P was free but I can’t remember if that was because I spent over £30.00. I spent £38.54 in total (a couple of other reviews of lovely Korean beauty to come), and it took just under two weeks to get here.
It’s a small pencil, sold as 1.2g, but I wonder if that’s the pencil and not the fill? Charlotte Tilbury’s pencils are as measly 1.4g (fill) and this one is much smaller.
MacQueen New York Waterproof Gel Pencils are widely available here, and in the US. I’ve seen them on Amazon and eBay. BeautyNetKorea on Amazon.com sell them in a box of 5 (including Cherry Blossom Latte) for $20.00 with free P &P.
Will I buy more shades? Oh yes, Arabica Latte, Expresso Latte & French Latte are all on my hit list, oh and another Cherry Blossom Latte of course.
