REVIEW: Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Overnight Ultimate Hair Healer
I had to buy this after the success of Charles Worthington’s Moisture Seal Hair Healer Leave-In Conditioner, I love an overnight product, especially a hair conditioner, and this one doesn’t disappoint.
Give thirsty hair the ultimate hydration with this concentrated blend of Argan, Abyssinian, Coconut, Tsubaki and Macadamia oils for long-lasting nourishment.
This powerful encapsulated blend penetrates deep into the hair shaft, to repair dryness, frizz or damage. A silky lightweight crème, this healing mask acts as beauty sleep for your hair, leaving no residue on your pillow.
Its advanced formula contains a Night Shield Complex with penetrating actives that reinforce the hair from root to tip. Hair strength is doubled overnight whilst breakage is reduced by 85%.
HOW TO USE
- Once or twice a week, smooth onto dry hair, covering from root to tip. Leave overnight.
- If applied to clean hair, lightly rinse off the following morning.
- If applied to hair with product build-up, rinse off in the morning, follow with shampoo and conditioner and style as normal.
The first thing I should point out is that it has a very pleasant fragrance. It’s slightly masculine, and reminds me of a Molton Brown candle.
The scent of overnight hair and beauty products is vitally important, especially if your pillowcase absorbs the smell.
I’ve used two hair treatments in the past with rather strange odours. The rather wonderful Phyto Huile D’Ales Intense Hydrating Oil Treatment, which unfortunately, leaves hair smelling like a wet dog before it’s washed out (a small price to pay for the results), and the truly cloying and deeply offensive Grow Gorgeous – Overnight to Gorgeous Hair Masque, with its horrible ‘washing powder’ fragrance – I had to bin that (not cheap) tube quite quickly, although strangely, their Grow Gorgeous Hair Growth Serum smells delicious.
I’m not sure I would ever just lightly rinse it off, I always wash it out with shampoo. Hair feels very different though when its first rinsed, the texture is smooth and only the merest hint of conditioner, if that, is needed.
I also wouldn’t using any conditioning styling products either, hair will be silky smooth enough. I used a tiny blob of the Leave-In Conditioner the first time, and my hair was left as flat as a pancake and a bit greasy.
I have to say, I really do love this overnight treatment, hair the next day is always swishy, silky and shiny.
If there’s a tiny downside, it’s that hair won’t really hold a set style, you can also forget about an ‘up-do’ for special events. The next day you will probably need a good spritz of dry shampoo, which for me, has to be Philip Kingsley’s One More Day Dry Shampoo. The payoff though, is worth it, people will notice how lovely and healthy your hair looks.
The Moisture Seal collection is so reasonably priced, especially as you need such a small amount of product and actually delivers results. I highly recommend it.
