REVIEW Kérastase Résistance Therapiste for Very Damaged Hair
We all know that personal recommendation of a product is best, especially if you trust that person. When my fellow blogger Mandy, of Mirique Beauty raved about the Kérastase Therapiste range on her blog, especially the split ends treatment, I knew I was going to buy it.
Kérastase Résistance Therapiste for Very Damaged Hair
Restore years of damage from long-term hair coloring or other demanding chemical processes, featuring breakthrough technology that gives damaged hair a second life.
This regimen is perfect for anyone with over-processed, brittle, and severely damaged hair who wants to regain strength, renew and reconstruct their hair.
As I’ve said so many times on here, I’m a Kérastase hair junkie and apart from The Cristalliste range – very average and in my opinion definitely not worth the money, I bought:
- Kérastase Resistance Therapiste Soin Conditioner (200ml)
- Kérastase Resistance Therapiste Bain Shampoo (250ml)
- Kérastase Resistance Therapiste Masque (200ml)
- Kérastase Resistance Therapiste Serum (30ml)
I bought them in January this year and all 4 products cost £57.86 from AllBeauty.com
I’ve been using the products for over 7 months now, so it’s fair to say I’ve given them a thorough road test.
SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
A shampoo with a unique jelly-like texture. Specially formulated with an innovative FIBRA-KAP™ formula to deliver keratin associated proteins (KAPs) to repair hair fibres.
The lightweight conditioner has developed for use before shampooing, but can also be used after cleansing if preferred.
Mandy had a Kérastase Resistance Therapiste treatment at a salon where they used the conditioner first then the shampoo.
I thought I’d try this, because I already use a blob of Phillip Kingsley’s Elasticizer (if you ever see this wonder product on special offer, buy it) as a pre shampoo conditioner every wash.
I didn’t like the result very much. I really felt it made my hair look and feel a bit greasy, as if I hadn’t rinsed it properly.
However, I used the shampoo and conditioner in the traditional order and straightaway I thought, I know how I’m going to word this in the review.
It’s as if you’ve just had your hair done in a salon. You know how finished and perfect your hair looks after it’s been professionally blow dried? This is exactly how my hair turns out every–single-time.
There is a downside though, hair the next day does look a little bit greasy and feels slightly heavy as if there’s a film on it, I feel I need to wash it. It is a one day wonder.
However, if you want your hair to look perfect for a special occasion, then these Cinderella i.e. ‘one night only’ products are the ones to use.
Kérastase Resistance Therapiste Masque is a butter-textured mask that deeply penetrates hair to restore strength and boost elasticity. The lightweight mask revitalises hair strands and locks in moisture so you can experience silky smooth, hydrated locks.
I’ve used the mask about 6 times i.e. once a month. I used it with the shampoo (first) and the results were even better than using the conditioner. The mask is heavy-duty and only a little blob is needed, which is just as well because the mask on its own will set you back £20.00.
I’ve kept the best for last. The ends of my hair have to be blunt cut because they tend to go ‘ratty’ – especially as I have layers in my hair.
The bottle is divided into 2 sections and each pump measures out cream and serum which you mix together in the palm of your hand – I always love a gimmick!
Kérastase Resistance Therapiste Serum transforms very damaged and over-processed hair to leave it hydrated, conditioned and healthy-looking.
The treatment works as a repairing cream and binding serum to resurface hair and improve its structure.
30ml isn’t much product, I use one pump and apply it to the ends of my hair first and work my way up if there’s any left over.
Each bottle lasts me 3 months, I know this, because I’m just about to buy my third one. I absolutely love this product, it’s worth every penny. It keeps the ends of my hair feeling strong instead of straggly and I can immediately feel the difference if I don’t use it. I also do think it’s helping to keep my ends feeling blunt.
