REVIEW BY TERRY Hyaluronic Sheer Rouge Lipstick

Oh, I really messed up with the shade here, it’s an expensive mistake too. I wouldn’t mind, but I researched it thoroughly, or at least I thought I did.

BY TERRY HYALURONIC SHEER ROUGE

By Terry’s Hyaluronic Sheer Rouge balm-gel lip tint maintains moisture levels and enhances lip condition with a subtle ‘kiss’ of juicy colour.

Rich in By Terry’s signature whipped hyaluronic acid microspheres, to optimise hydration and provide a slight ‘plumping’ effect to feels weightless.

With UV filters to protect against sun damage, this aqua-glossy melt-away balm glides on, adds shine, moisturises, smoothes, fills-in, protects lips. An unprecedented combination of colour and UV defence care.

Strip away the flowery language and what you have is a sheer lipstick that’s much punchier than a mere lip balm and, while it may need to be applied fairly frequently throughout the day, the pigment is strong enough to stain the lips.

It’s fairly soft, so use it straight from the bullet. I like to apply lipstick with a lip brush for a neater finish, but the brush just made dents in the lipstick. Because of the staining, (it was really hard to shift when I tried to wipe it off quickly), you have to prep lips first, especially the lip outline, to prevent bleeding.

It’s incredibly moisturising and feels very comfortable on the lips. My problem is that the colour isn’t right for me or my lips.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a stunning colour, perfect for all skin tones, from the very pale to the very dark. It would look phenomenal with a tan too, but lips have to be full. On average sized lips, it just makes them look thin. I certainly wouldn’t say it’s only suitable for young women – although it is a very youthful, fun shade, it would also work on older women who’ve had their lips enhanced.

The shade is a glamorous vibrant cerise pink – WHICH LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE SWATCHES ON ANY OFFICIAL OR NON OFFICIAL SITES!

It’s also really over priced. To compare, there’s 3g of lipstick here for £27.00, whereas Charlotte ‘Bargain Basement’ Tilbury’s lipsticks have 3.5g of product for £23.00.

I’m trying not to hate on it *on a roll* but the long thin tube is deceptive, you can see from my photo below with the lipstick fully extended how mean it is. Plus, the lipstick’s cut too close to the top of the tube and it smudges over the case.

Grudgingly though, it is ‘technically’ a gorgeous lipstick. The colour (on the right person), is glossy, rich and vibrant. It glides on smoothly from the tube and wears evenly.

I tried to mix it with other shades to at least get some use out of it, but it doesn’t want to play nicely with other lipsticks, which I think is down to the sheer formula. This shade wants to be the star and is not going to share the spotlight with anyone.

If Party Girl was a person, she’d be Kim Kardashian.
