REPOST: Keep Cool at Night
This isn’t the most elegant solution, but it does work. I first did this when I was suffering from night sweats and thought I was going to melt into the bed.
Here’s what to do:
- Take one clean tea towel – one of those cotton ones used to dry glasses.
- Rinse it in cold water.
- Wring it out just enough so it doesn’t drip.
- Lie down.
- Place over lower legs.
- And sleep!
I promise it will cool you down instantly.
A fluffy towel won’t work as it’s too heavy.
As an alternative, I did use two muslin cloths (you know, the Liz Earle ones), one on each leg, VERY cooling, but a bit faffy if you turn over or shift onto your side.

I’m doing this right now (with the fan on as well), and do you know what? I’m as cool and as comfortable as could be!
