Fushi Beauty Oils: Carrot, Passion Seed, Tamanu
The problem with a lot of organic health and beauty products is that they come with a high price tag. To be fair, it’s understandable, there’s the sustainable sourcing, quality of ingredients and packaging challenges to be taken into consideration.
Bucking the trend is award-winning online ethical hair and beauty retailer Fushi, who sell an enormous range of hair, face and body products at very competitive prices.
Fushi offer everything from cold pressed oils, supplements (Western and Ayurvedic), health and fitness accessories (the body brushes are rather good value) to funky workout clothing.
Their blog is definitely worth a read. I particularly liked the headline: Sun block ‘the most effective anti-ageing product available’. Praise be!
I’ve been sent 3 of their new range of beauty oils.
All the oils are packaged in glass bottles to protect the contents from heat, light, oxidation and moisture. Fushi oils are pressed from this season’s fresh harvest of seeds, nuts and kernels, to retain quality potency and efficacy.
Fushi Passion Seed (Maracuja) Oil
Made from the seeds of the exotic Passion Flower and perfect as a moisturiser for the skin.
Inhale the aroma of the oil, put a few drops on a tissue and place it on your pillow to help you sleep after a stressful day or try putting a few drops in a bath to aid relaxation.
Passion seed oil is a great emollient oil, light, non-greasy and easy to apply. It is an excellent moisturiser for the skin and helps to keep it hydrated.
It also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. This is great for protecting the skin against free radical damage and keeping it youthful.
Massaging Passion seed oil into painful joints can help reduce the pain. For massages, it can be mixed with another carrier oil, such as Sweet Almond oil.
Organic Carrot Oil
Regenerate your skin this season with Fushi’s Organic Carrot Oil. Cold pressed from the flesh of whole carrots and infused in Sweet Almond oil, this oil is extremely rich in Beta Carotene, Vitamins A, B, C, D and E and essential fatty acids.
It is incredible for sun damaged, dry, ageing or wrinkled skin. Additionally, it makes for a wonderful deep condition, bringing life back to dry, frazzled hair.
REVIEW A more natural fake tan
This oil feels lovely to use on the skin but it is really orange and might stain clothes. Saying that, due to the colour I have used it on my legs instead of fake tan. It’s brilliant giving the colour a fake tan would, but moisturising your skin as well.
Virgin Organic Tamanu Oil
Improve your skin with the inherently powerful Fushi Tamanu Oil, known as the ‘oil of the gods’. It has been used in South East Asia and the Pacific Islands for centuries as a cure-all for many skin problems.
The oil helps heal scars, stretch marks, acne scars, anti-aging, abrasions and sunburn. It has antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and aids the renewal of skin – perfect for those that have extra sensitive skin during the chilly winter months.
REVIEW Mix with moisturiser
I will use my usual skin care, and then I will mix this with my Olay Regenerist 3 Point Serum (2 pumps serum, 4 shakes of Tamanu oil). The oil sinks into the skin straight away.
I also use this in my daily body moisturising routine. I will mix this with my body cream for an all over glow. My skin is literally baby soft.
