LA SCIENCE Follicle Stimulating Shampoo TRIAL
Hair loss brand LA Science, is just one of the hand-picked ranges sold by online beauty retailer, My Skin.
LA Science Hair Follicle Stimulating Shampoo maintains the condition of the scalp by using an active peptide combination to nurture and add manageability to thinning hair, creating the best environment for anti-hair loss by strengthening the hair follicle.
We are all born with a fixed amount of hair follicles – you cannot grow ‘brand new’ hair, but you can wake up ‘sleeping’ hair follicles and prolong the hair life-cycle which in turn, will significantly increase the volume of hair.
LA Science’s unique, patented nano technology delivery system delivers the formula directly to the root of the problem, to strengthen and nourish your hair and provide an effective re-growth platform.
One of the main ingredients is Copper Tripeptide complex which increases blood vessel network to the hair follicle, increasing the size of the follicle and in turn encouraging hair growth.
- Hyaluronic acid is a powerfully hydrating molecule capable of carrying up to 1000 times its weight in water, which saturates the hair follicle with vital moisture
- Biotin (Vitamin B7) nourishes the hair shaft to give strength and flexibility
- Keratin fortifies the hair shaft
- Silk extract smoothes and conditions the hair
- Glycerin acts as a gentle moisturiser to ensure silky, glossy hair
HOW TO USE
Work a small amount of shampoo through wet hair, then massage gently, touching the scalp to help stimulation. Start with the roots of the hair and work through to the end & rinse thoroughly.
In the bottle, this thick white shampoo smells a bit like an expensive herbal aftershave. I found it quite strong and masculine, it certainly wakes you up in the morning. Once hair is blow dried, the fragrance is much more delicate and dials down to impart more of a ‘freshly washed’ hair scent. It’s housed in a pump-action plastic bottle, ideal for the shower.
LA Science advise you to take a couple of minutes to massage in the shampoo, which is an important step. This is when you feel the herbal zing working its magic on those lazy follicles. This increased blood flow to the scalp, conditions the hair and follicles and promote the best environment for the prevention of hair loss.
The shampoo contains Polygala Tenuifolia root – this plant extract is known to stimulate hair growth, and Portulaca Oleracea, to keep the scalp clean and healthy.
LA Science insist you don’t need a conditioner which always stresses me out, my hair laps up conditioner and I’ve always taken two bottles into the shower (older readers will get that reference). However, the addition of silk extract and glycerin act as a conditioner and smoothes the hair shaft.
As long as you apply sparingly, (it lathers up a lot) and rinse thoroughly, then hair is easy to comb afterwards. The first couple of times I used it, I obviously didn’t rinse enough, because I ended up with bushy, 80s style hair I couldn’t get a comb through.
This is no overnight sensation, it will take time to see results because every hair is at a different stage of the growth cycle. The good thing though, is that the shampoo will volumise fine hair after the first application and you won’t need to apply any hair thickening products when styling. You can enjoy thicker looking hair, while waiting for the science part to kick in.
