REVIEW: Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner – Iconic Nude
Shade wise, Iconic Nude is a near perfect match* – although it’s twice the price for almost the same amount of product. For pigment, quality and longevity however, Iconic Nude certainly has the edge.
Iconic Nude is much browner toned than the official swatch on the website, but once on the lips it adjusts to a much more natural looking, pinky brown shade. The pencil is soft (put it in the fridge before sharpening to avoid waste), but this softness means it doesn’t drag on skin and glides over the lip line.
It’s perfect if you want to fill in your lips and use as a long-lasting base colour under lipstick or lip gloss – it really is waterproof too. This is a heavily pigmented shade that doesn’t fade or budge. It also doesn’t stray into the vertical lip lines older women are prone to.
As for evening out or shaping lips and going ever so slightly over the lip line to create the illusion of a slightly fuller lip, it’s faultless.
I’ve just bought a new Beech lip pencil, but I’ll keep it as a back up, because as perfect as it was, this is my new favourite.
I know the quality is top-notch, but the price does make me cringe.** The softness of the pencil means it will need frequent sharpening, with Pillow Talk it’s every 3 uses, which is awful really. But…it is perfect.

*Adjusted photo to match ‘real life’ shades, these are true colour swatches.
**For all my b*itching and whining that Charlotte Tilbury cosmetics are so expensive, I’ve actually bought two other products:
This powder eyeshadow pencil in Sophia and the sublime Long-Lasting Easy Cream Eyeshadow in Jean – reviews to come.
