Hair loss and thinning is devastating at any age. The causes vary and can include factors such as medication; genetics; the environment; chemicals; medication; diet; skin disorders; ageing and of course – menopause.
The Peri-menopause (along with my under active thyroid), has taken a toll on my hair and while it’s not thinning, it is very fine.
I’m always looking to improve the condition and strength of my hair with supplements and products. Now, I’m taking a different approach and with two colleagues, will be trialing the Theradome™ LH80 Pro Laser Helmet for 8 months.
BENEFITS OF LASER HAIR THERAPY
Laser Phototherapy treatments have been shown to increase microcirculation, reduce inflammation and promote healing. These properties could be considered beneficial to hair growth and overall scalp health.
The Theradome™ LH80 Pro Laser Helmet uses the same clinical strength laser phototherapy you would find in a hair clinic. The advantages of using this FDA approved helmet versus a hair loss clinic, are the cost of a course of treatments (anything from £1500 for 6 months), and the benefit of using the product in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
FEMALE HAIR LOSS
Hair loss affects an estimated 8 million women in the UK and more than half of all men suffer significant hair loss by the age of 50. Female hair loss is particularly emotionally distressing and often harder to treat than male pattern baldness.
As a practicing Trichologist with over 20 years in the hair loss industry, I am quite aware that the general population considers hair loss to be a male problem.
I have seen and advised thousands of women on their hair loss issues, yet almost every treatment on the market is aimed at men, there are few viable options for women’s hair loss treatment.

HOW TO USE
Very easy! We’ve been playing around with the helmet and it’s as simple as putting it on your head and pressing a button to start treatment and keeping it charged.
A 20-minute session, every other day.
There are three very different subjects trialling the helmet:
Subject A Pre-menopausal woman with fine hair.
Subject B 55-year-old male with typical male pattern baldness.
Subject C Elderly woman with severe hair thinning.
Hopefully, the first visible results will be seen around the four-month mark. There will be photographs along the way of course, as my boys like to say – A photo, or it didn’t happen!
