I nearly got away with it. Gradually, my hot flushes became less frequent and subsided quickly. A flash of fire and then, just as rapidly, the flame died down. Then I noticed them creeping back, slowly at first – a regular one at 8am (at least I know that one’s coming), then an odd burn up in the afternoon.
Now, I’m up to 3 or 4 day. It’s particularly disheartening because I know a mild spring’s around the corner and any temperature fluctuation will send me into a volcanic frenzy of internal heat.
I’m a long-term fan of the very reasonably priced (£4.19 for a month’s supply) Menopace supplements, and I do believe they worked – for a while. But, I don’t know whether my body’s used to them (is that an actual thing?) or my flushes have stepped up a gear, but they’re obviously not working for me now.
I still have faith in the Vitabiotics brand and when I was running low on the ‘Original’ formula (there are now 6 variations) I asked Mark to pick up a new box for me. They didn’t have it in stock, so he bought a box of Menopace Plus Botanicals (I think it was the closest one to hand).
I wasn’t best pleased when I saw it was a whopping £15.75 for a 28 day supply, but then I looked closely at some of the reviews on the Boots website and they seem to have one thing in common – claims of a reduction in the number of hot flushes women experienced after taking this supplement for a while. Interesting.
After taking Menopace Plus for two weeks, the hot flushes I had been getting for the previous five months a few times a day, stopped completely. Two of my friends recommended Menopace Plus to me saying that they had experienced similar benefits, it really has made me feel so much better.
I tried this last year and it really seemed to make a difference to my hot flushes. I stopped using it for a few weeks and they came back with a vengeance. I started using it again nearly a fortnight ago and already I’m seeing an improvement. I did try the original on its own but it seems to work better when you take both tablets.
I have been using these for 2 weeks but have seen no significant relief from night flushes! Will keep taking for to see if I get any better. < Oh, OK.
I was really suffering from hot flushes the whole last year. No natural remedy available in Austria helped and I did not want any HRT. When I went to London last December I purchased Menopace Plus. Recognisable improvement after 2 weeks (less hot flushes, shorter duration). After 4 weeks no hot flushes anymore (not during a busy day and also pretty good nights). Already recommended this product to my friends.
I have been using Menopace Plus for quite a while and have found it a fantastic support, really helping me during the early stages of my menopause. My hot flushes have been reduced, my mood has been improved and I have more energy. I expect that I will be buying it for a few years yet! I have tried several alternatives to HRT to control hot flushes, night sweats, memory retention difficulty and intense tiredness and am so relieved that Menopace Plus has alleviated most of these symptoms.
What you’re actually getting with Menopace Plus Botanicals, is one tablet of original Menopace and an ‘Active Botanical’ tablet with Green Tea, Sage Extract, Soya Isoflavone Extract and Flaxseed Lignans.
It’s this red Botanical tablet that’s the expensive one. I’m intrigued to see if this supplement combination will ease my hot flushes – if so, then £15.75 is a small price to pay for relief.
Each Menopace® tablet contains a comprehensive combination of nutrients, especially for this time including vitamin B6 which contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity.
Vitamin D plus magnesium contribute to the maintenance of normal bones plus biotin, pantothenic acid & vitamin B12 with copper and iron which contribute to normal energy release.
Menopace® Plus also contains a unique active botanical tablet providing Sage, Green Tea, Flaxseed Lignans and extra Soya Isoflavones for those looking for even greater support. Green Tea extract for example contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
HOW TO USE
- One tablet and one active botanical tablet per day are recommended with or immediately after your main meal. Swallow with plenty of liquid to wash the tablets down.
- Taking the tablet with a large meal maximises the absorption of the nutrients, and can reduce nausea, which is sometimes experienced if multivitamins are taken on an empty stomach.

Update: 20th April 2015
The good news, and I hope I’m not ‘preempting’ myself here, but 4 weeks down the line and my hot flashes have significantly decreased. The occurrences of the frequent ‘melting from the inside out’ feelings have lessened considerably and I’m very happy.
But is a month too early to see results? Is it a placebo effect, because I really want them to work? I’m not sure, but I’m going to buy three month’s supply from Boots using their 3 for 2 offer. I feel I can’t risk not giving them a fair shot.
Although I wish I could buy the red tablet on its own. My husband bought me 3 boxes of Menopace Original tablets and said “Look, I remembered this time!” and I was like, “Oh, I prefer the other ones now.” Men, eh?
If you wanted to try just one box, then the best price I’ve found is £11.63 (at 20/4/15) on Amazon UK.
