Remember my Ageing Make Up Mishaps post, Matt is too flat? I wrote that mature skin needs to be glowy, not flat and dull. However, there’s a fine line between glowy and shiny and this is where a dusting of ultra-fine face powder comes into play.
Get ready to wear a beautiful, camera-ready, airbrushed look that lasts for hours. This innovative, ultra-fine moisturising face powder helps skin look brightened, dewy and luminous while helping minimise the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
OFFICIAL SHADE SWATCHES (The light one is a good match!)
This powder’s a huge hit with older women.
Very pleased with this powder, does not collect in lines, esp good for women over 60. A little concealer and powder and ready to go.
A very nice powder…goes on so smooth, doesn’t stick in your wrinkles! A very fresh look, is what it gives one! Will buy again!
I have ordered many of RTW powders and love them for their staying power. As I get older, I hate the feeling of all that gooey thick foundation. All of these products go on clean and light but still do the job. I wear the bronzing power over it and it feels great all day! Please don’t ever discontinue it!
This compact is great for travel (measures 2 1/2″ square & 1/2″ deep) & the brush is in the container so saves even more space. Powder does not settle into my mid-60-yr-old wrinkles. I got medium & it seems pretty light for even my normally light skin.
Doesn’t settle into fine lines on this 60-year-old face, leaves complexion looking smooth, evens out skin tone, almost looks air brushed!
I have to say that this is one powder that looks great on my over fifty face. It covers well and yet it is not heavy. Looks like smooth as silk complexion.
I am 64, been on the search for powder that works like a powder but does NOT settle in my lines. This one is great. It covers, but feels like air. No settling in lines, even under my eyes. Love it!
Let me start off saying…I have very sensitive, red, ‘everything I use breaks me out’ skin. This is the best coverage, and no matter how much I put on my skin, still looks like skin, without looking cakey, or like I threw flour on my skin. I have tried every single powder including Bare Minerals, just to find my skin looking cakey. This is smooth and covers without looking heavy. I just love it!
I am 53 and it does not settle in any fine lines and does cover uneven skin. If you are looking for more than a light to medium coverage effectiveness, then I would not recommend this product for you. All in all, I will use this face powder again as it also did not dry out my skin, which is highly important to maintaining healthy skin.
The medium dark is nice on my olive tone. I’m a bit embarrassed to say it took a few minutes and playing around with the compact before I finally figured out how to “slide” the bottom out to get to the brush compartment.
READY TO WEAR’s HydraSkin Perfecting Powder is made in Italy and contained in sleek black packaging. The compact’s snap clasp is easy to open – great, because I’ve broken more than a few fingernails trying to prise open stiff compacts (when will manufacturers learn?).
The sliding compartment opens and shuts securely. I’ve checked, and there’s nothing that can break off to loosen it or prevent it from closing properly – been there!
The brush, as the last review above says, is in the sliding compartment – a good idea as it’s handy for quick touch ups on the go. With my current loose face powder, I have a separate brush and I have to shake the powder up through the holes in the lid, dip the brush in and tap the excess on the side of the tub – fine when you’re at home, not so great when you want a discreet shiny nose touch up when you’re out and about.
Quick tip: Store the brush bristle side facing towards you, so as not to ruffle the bristles (maybe the compartment could be a teeny bit deeper?).
It’s a decent sized mirror and thankfully, the powder’s fragrance free – I don’t know why, but some pressed powders tend to have a strong, old-fashioned,
old lady, powdery scent which can linger on your skin all day.
Although this is a pressed powder, it doesn’t behave as one. Because of its lightness, it brushes on almost like a very fine loose powder. The ‘light’ shade is perfect for my pale skin, it’s not porcelain light at all. Coverage is light to medium.
I have to agree with the above reviews, this is an ideal powder for mature skin types. Because of its lightness, it’s not cakey or drying and, a big one this, it doesn’t settle into fine lines, result!
