LightStim LED (Light-Emitting Diodes) Light Therapy is a hand-held, at-home beauty device designed to renew, repair, and heal skin, using UV-free light energy.

There are three LightStim products composed of different wavelengths, or colours of light, to target specific areas of concern.

The one I’ve asked to trial is of course, LightStim Wrinkles. I have three particular areas of concern; the horizontal line on top of my nose; a vertical line on my lower forehead (apparently known as a ‘vertical 1’ – makes sense) and newly formed crepiness on my neck – a direct result of my recent allergic reaction to mandarin oil.

The travel pouch is rather nice, it actually holds the LightStim and plug without squashing them in, plus there’s space for the serum.

The trial size bottle of LightStim Collagen Peptide Serum combines a myriad of powerful ingredients that help to preserve youthful healthy skin and was specifically designed to increase the benefits of LightStim Anti-Aging Light.

This has to be the easiest ‘beauty gadget’ I’ve ever used. It’s simply a matter of plugging it in and holding it gently in place for 3 minutes on each area to be treated.

You can use it fairly close to your eye area ie crow’s-feet, (not the eyelids of course) and even over your lips. I’ve just read the box and it says it can also be used on the jaw line, décolleté and hands!

HOW TO USE

  1. Cleanse and dry your skin.
  2. Place the light so that it gently touches your skin and hold it in that location for three minutes.
  3. Then, move it to the next targeted location and hold it there for three more minutes.
  4. Continue this until you have addressed all desired areas.
  5. Twice daily, apply Collagen Peptide Serum liberally over clean, dry skin. Massage into face, neck, and décolleté and let dry. Can be used alone or combined with your current skin care products. Avoid contact with eyes.
  6. For best results, do this at least five days a week.

I’ve downloaded the LightStim app which is really useful to keep one eye on the treatment time and one eye on the telly. (Although, keep your eyes closed when treating the eye area). The app emits a ‘beep’ when the allotted time is up.

UPDATE: 25th July 2014

Use LightStim and you’re in it for the long haul. I knew it wouldn’t be an overnight sensation, but 4 weeks in and no difference whatsoever can still be a little disheartening; you want to see tangible results.

Enter week 5 however, and finally, some subtle changes – my under my eye area is a little smoother and my neck – well, that’s something I’m going to save for next month. I’ve also had a few ‘You look well’ comments and that is always an encouraging sign.

A few helpful tips, don’t use on a Friday or Saturday, you won’t be relaxed, there’s too much to do at the weekends anyway, so make these your two rest days.

Also during use, settle yourself in front of the telly (the time flies by!) you certainly can’t read a book which I saw suggested somewhere. I can’t do it without the official app to countdown the 3 minutes for each section.

I’m also taking my LightStim on holiday with me, I don’t want to lose any time!
