REVIEW: TIMELESS TRUTH GREEN TEA SOOTHING SHEET MASK
Sheet beauty masks are a marriage between innovative technology and convenience. No messy tubes or jars, they’re a portable luxury you can tuck into your suitcase. I’ve written about the Timeless Truth Beauty Masks range before, and now I’m going to focus on each of them individually, starting with Green Tea Phenol Soothing Mask, part of the Fusion range.
With natural Extract of Green Tea, Aloe Vera and Chamomile this treatment helps prevent premature signs of ageing. Green Tea is naturally rich in anti-oxidants and helps to inhibit collagenase (a collagen-reducing enzyme found in the skin), hence promoting the health of the collagen and maintaining a firm skin. Green Tea naturally helps reduce inflammation of the skin and simultaneously regulates oily secretions.
An advanced skin care phenomenon using a unique and patented Timeless Truth Functionality Cloth that fortifies the skin from oxidizing and simultaneously regulates oil secretion. The green impregnated colour in the cloth is Green Tea Extract itself; it prevents premature signs of ageing and refines skin texture. With this layer of protection, it minimises enlarged pores and reduces acne while it improves uneven skin tone and dark pigmentation to help repair the skin.
Ideal for those prone to spots, acne or oily skin
Treatment for acne, helps maintain elasticity, regulates oily secretions, promotes skin radiance.
Green Tea Extract has cell protective qualities, is easily absorbed and helps skin fight inflammation that may cause premature ageing. It also has excellent astringent qualities that help maintain elasticity and firmness of the skin.
Hyaluronic Acid is non-toxic that serves as the most important space-filling substance in the human body. It holds water in the skin to keep collagen hydrated and provides a youthful look. Hyaluronic Acid has moisturising capabilities on skin’s structure and is very important in controlling tissue hydration.
Aloe Vera Extract stimulates new cell growth. The interior gel from Aloe Vera increases production of fibroblast cells. The fibroblast cells produce collagen which smooths and tightens skin, as well as moisturising and improving blood circulation.
Chamomile is known as both a pretty flower and an ancient healer. Not only is it an ideal ingredient for various skin problems, including acne and irritation, it also promotes granulation and cell regeneration. Chamomile contains phenolic and azulene derivatives which soften the skin, making it effective in anti-ageing and helps reduce puffiness as well as cleansing pores of impurities.
After cleansing, carefully unfold the mask – keep the sachet, I’ll tell you why in a second. Peel away the white plastic film and place mask, darkest side down, over the face. Be warned, because it’s saturated with serum, the mask is very cold. The scent is delicate and not heavily perfumed.
Placement – The instructions say to start with the chin area, but I did the opposite and started with my forehead and smoothed and adjusted the mask from there downwards by pressing it lightly into place. There are eye, nose and mouth cut outs. I gently lifted the lower part of the mouth cut out and repositioned it to fit just below my lower lip. I did the same for the eye cut outs and adjusted them so they completely covered the sides of my eyes ie the crow’s-feet.
I love that Timeless Truth haven’t been mean with the mask. The cloth is a good size and will fit over the entire face with a little cloth to spare to tuck under the chin. They’ve also been more than generous with the serum, even though the sheet mask is absolutely soaked, the serum isn’t thin or overly drippy. There’s also a lot of serum left in the sachet, so save this little bonus for afterwards.
Relax for 15-20 minutes and don’t answer the door, it’s not a pretty look!
The mask is well-behaved and you don’t have to keep on pressing it down. However, as it dries and the serum is absorbed by your skin, it will start to lift slightly, but it doesn’t slip.
After the mask is removed, massage any remaining serum into skin and smooth leftover serum from the sachet into your neck and upper chest area.
My skin was certainly soothed and felt moisturised, but the best instant, result was on my neck. I suffered a severe allergic reaction to an essential oil beauty product (which I wasn’t even testing for the site), in February. The rash didn’t heal for 3 months – though it felt longer.
This took a huge toll on my neck, leaving it crepey and parched for the first time ever. I massaged the left over Green Tea mask serum into my neck and it drank it up immediately and left my skin feeling hydrated and soft, something I’ve not experienced for a long time. I’m considering applying another fusion mask to my neck area only, next time. In fact, I definitely will.
The masks are sold singularly and in packs of 5. It is recommended that you use these masks 3-4 times a week for best results.
