Ted Baker Katient Make Up Bag

Ted Baker Katient Make Up Bag

I bought this Ted Baker Spring/Summer 2013 Collection, ‘Katient’ Make Up Bag on a flight out of Heathrow a couple of weeks ago for £17.00 (normally retails at £22.00). It’s the first time I’ve purchased anything from a Sky Shop. I’m not usually tempted by the offers, but this one caught my eye.

The photos don’t really do this little bag justice. It’s a delicate, subtle nude pink with a dark grey bow with rose-coloured gold zip and hardware.

Even the zip tag is designed like a miniature bow.

It’s in  patent PVC which of course is perfect for a make up bag, but it is lined with material. I can see it being marked or worse, ripped within moments of putting my make up items into it, but it’s just so pretty!

The glossy plastic is soft, unlike a Ted Baker Shopping Bag I bought a few years ago which is very stiff with absolutely no ‘bend’ in it at all. This little case however, is very well made, with straight seams and the interior is stitched with care. It’s sturdy too, that little bow isn’t going anywhere, it’s nice and secure.

The bag is also, when filled, deceptively roomy. If you were inclined to use it a make up bag *aherm* then it would hold a fair few items and your longest lip and eye pencils.

I’m probably just going to keep it as it is for a while, (men don’t ‘get’ this) and perhaps pop in a couple of tightly lidded lipsticks if when I actually get around to using it.

Now for the bad news, it seems to be sold out in shops and online. Sorry about that, but I’ve written the post now and taken all these photos so I’m publishing this anyway!

However, you can buy the black one for £21.99 (free P&P) from Surfdome.com

John Lewis have very similar versions called Jakko, in the same nude pink, black and a gorgeous bright pink (really lovely!) for £22.00.

I know it’s a little early – personally, I’m a last-minute gift  buyer, but I think any of these little make up bags would make rather gorgeous Christmas presents.  It’s glamorous, it’s a designer name and it’s not outrageously cheap or expensive.   I tend to buy presents for other people that I’d want for myself and I would definitely be happy to receive another one of these.
