REVIEW: Clarins Eau Ressourçante Silky-Smooth Body Cream
This is another holiday buy from the airport. I was actually looking for Chloé Body Cream in the heavy glass jar, but I tested this one out on a whim and instantly fell in love with the Eau Ressourçante scent.
A unique combination of essential oils and plant extracts.
With its rich, melting, and readily absorbed texture, the fragranced Clarins Eau Ressourçante Silky Smooth Body Cream is ideal for all skin types.
Use it to help soothe and energise body and mind, as well as moisturise and revitalise skin for a silky-smooth, fragrant finish. A delicious treat for the entire body, the rich, ultra-moisturizing cream glides on easily, and leaves in its wake Clarins Eau Ressourçante’s subtle fragrance, thanks to a unique combination of essential oils and plant extracts.
Apply whenever skin feels dry, massaging the product using gentle sweeping movements all over the body.
I used to be crazy for the Clarins Eau Dynamisante fragrance; I had the body lotion, perfume and shower mousse etc but that was when I was pregnant with my first child, 17 years ago. Now, that scent makes me gag, so I’ve kept well away from it ever since.
The Eau Ressourçante fragrance is very different from Dynamisante, it’s still fairly distinctive but it’s much more fresh. I would describe the scent as reminiscent of a luxury hotel bathroom abroad. I dare you to have a sniff of it next time you’re at a Clarins counter and tell me I’m wrong!
The texture is less of a heavy cream and more like a soft gel cream. ‘Silky’ is definitely the correct adjective. It glides onto skin without leaving it sticky and absorbs quickly. It works well as a moisturiser, especially after a bath or shower, and isn’t ‘slippy’ on the skin as some body creams are prone to be.
Although this is hydrating, this is not heavy enough when your skin is flaky dry. for normal to dry skin, this is perfect, it’s lightweight and absorbs quickly.
The fragrance lingers all day, you’ll catch the subtle scent on your skin now and then.
I’m not entirely sure that I would layer it with other Eau Ressourçante scented products from the range though, I think that might be fragrance overload, but on its own, it’s a gorgeous, luxury product.
I paid £23.00 as it was on special offer in Duty Free. The price from the official Clarins website is £29.00, but most online retailers sell it at around the £26.00 mark.
John Lewis have priced matched it at £26.10 – UPDATE That’s a lie! It’s now £29.00 from John Lewis – it went up £2.90 overnight!
HOWEVER, I’ve just seen it on the Escentual website for £25.15 (inc. £1.95 P&P).
