Now THIS really was a box worth getting. I had a hunch I’d love the contents and I do.
This is a really brief run through as I’ve only looked at three of the products so far, but the Summer Nails Offer is SOLD OUT!
still going strong and I thoroughly recommend it.
I tried the Bourjois Nail Polish Remover first. All those reviewers who said how pleasant and non nail polishy the scent was were lying to us! Red fruit and vanilla fragrance? NO!
Fortunately for me, my husband stuck his nose right into the pot first, when he recoiled coughing, I got the hint to sniff it from a safe distance. It smells (strongly!) of nail polish remover. No biggie though because, yes, it does work.
The (rather heavy) pot has a dark grey sponge with a hole in the middle (to put your finger in) and is saturated with nail polish remover. You twist the pot around your finger and the sponge removes the varnish in one go – love it! Would NEVER in a million years have paid nearly a fiver for it though.
Kudos to all those talented nail bloggers who take those beautiful, clear close up photographs of their nails. I really wanted to show you how gorgeous the Notting Hill hot neon pink is, it’s not a garish WAGish ‘in your face’ pink at all. On long nails it might be a tad ott but it looks fabulous on short nails.
The Butter London nude is actually the ‘Yummy Mummy’ shade, it didn’t specify that it was this one on the blurb though, did it? It’s a sort of ‘greige’ shot through with a whisper of silver, but it screams sophistication, stunning and full size too. A single coat though looks completely different to two coats, it’s a much warmer shade.
Alas no photos, the ones I took made me look like I’d splashed blobs of colour onto a pound of thick sausages. The ones Mark took were even worse, I thought it best we quit while we were still talking. I say talking, I mean shouting, my nails were pink but the air was blue. He’s no David Bailey* that’s for sure.
The real star though, is Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top Coat. I need a full size one now! Not only does it dry varnish super fast as promised, but the shine is reminiscent of a gel manicure, I’m not kidding. The finish is glassy and even and it just feels tough the way gel does. I’m so pleased I had the opportunity to try this, I’ve bought and binned too many crappy top coats in the past.
If you have bought this box or have used any of the products in it, please let me know, I’d really love to compare notes.
*Please don’t tell me you don’t know who David Bailey is
you’ll make me cry and feel really old!
