REVIEW: John Masters Organics Deep Scalp Follicle Treatment & Volumiser

John Masters Organics

UPDATE 27th January 2014

Six months down the line and this product is still in use, although very nearly finished. My mum’s actually using it religiously and she loves it. Not so much for the volumising effect, not that much to be honest, but for the change in the condition of her scalp.

My mum’s scalp was a bit flaky (though it wasn’t dandruff) and prone to redness and occasional itchiness, but that’s all gone now. I’m sure the actual physical massaging of the tonic onto the scalp has helped with this.

Her hair has grown as well – lots of new, fine baby hair. Like the first reviewer (and me) she has a thyroid condition which can affect hair growth.

Most women, especially with hair thinning at the front of their hairline would benefit from gentle daily massage, just get into the habit, it will stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles.

Out of stock at Feel Unique, you can buy it from Only Naturals for the same price £21.00 (free P & P).

ORIGINAL POST 30th June 2013

I hadn’t heard of the John Masters range of organic hair, face and body products until I was given a few samples of the Lavender and Avocado Intensive Conditioner at the Organic & Natural Beauty Show last month.

Not only did the conditioner leave my hair incredibly soft – the comb glided through to the ends with ease, but the luxurious aroma lingered even after blow drying, I love it when a product does that.

At £22.000 for 207ml though (yes reader, I did buy the full size product), it’s definitely not an everyday conditioner.

I then began looking for reviews of other John Masters products and the one with the biggest buzz is John Masters Organics Deep Scalp Follicle Treatment & Volumiser for Thinning Hair. With an underactive thyroid condition and of course the peri-menopause lingering around the corner, my hair goes through good and bad periods of growth, so I thought this would be a good treatment to trial.

This spritz-on solution boosts hair growth using natural plant actives. Organic essential oils and herb extracts work to stimulate circulation, ensure nutrient absorption, neutralise free radicals and control sebum production, thereby creating a healthy and accommodating area for hair growth. After shampooing and conditioning, spray onto scalp and massage in. Leave in. Use after every shampoo to keep scalp in optimal health.

REVIEWS:

My mother has been using this product for a year or so. You could see her scalp from afar because of a thyroid problem. Now she still has thin hair but its fully grown. You don’t see her scalp and she feels great.

The extreme itch on my scalp is relieved. For once in my life, I have found something to relieve the incessant itch. I spray it on the most itchy places, and it takes a few minutes. But I have learned to massage the areas until it begins working. And once it starts working, I have very little if any itching during the day until nighttime or sometimes until the next morning. It works wonders!

I really love this product! My scalp is sensitive and it itches sometimes. This product stops the itching. I feel a big difference when I use this. My scalp feels moisturised and healthy.

I love this stuff. I have thin, fine, colored hair. I switched over to all natural hair products all at the same time so I can’t say for sure if it is this product (vs. the Intelligent Nutrients shampoo and conditioner) but my guess is it is.

I have been using the treatment for a month and already seeing some results. My hair is starting to fill in and doesn’t look nearly as thin. Extremely happy with results. Doesn’t leave hair oily or with that wet look.

I don’t have any hair loss, just very thin hair. I have been using it for several months now, and while it doesn’t add volume to my hair, it does seem like the quality of my hair has improved, as well as decreased breakage.

I have been using this for nearly two months and have not noticed any volume benefits or signs of hair growth – Ouch!

You can get the same results by putting some tap water in a spray bottle – Oh dear!

The front portion of my hairline thinned noticeably and after trying several other things such as supplements, I tried this out. It took about two months before I really started noticing the regrowth but I am about 70% back to normal thickness now after 8 months of use. It’s not overnight but it does work.
