Benefit Lip Plump Eye Bright
These are the two products I have bought time and time again over the years. Thankfully, Benefit haven’t messed with the formula (I hate it when manufacturers do that), and they are as good and as effective as they’ve always been.

Benefit Lip Plump
A slightly misleading name as it doesn’t actually plump your lips, if you do feel any tingling when you apply it, I’d return it!

It’s essentially a lip primer that blanks out your lip line and highlights the natural edge of your lips which creates a bare canvas that lets you go over your lip line (not too much though) with your lip pencil. Personally, I find that it also smoothes out those vertical lines that can appear on your top lip.

I just dab it (not much) onto the edge of my lips and let it settle for a bit. I use it in conjunction with Estée Lauder Perfectionist Targeted Deep Wrinkle Filler (review here). Combined, it stops lipstick seeping and makes your lipstick last longer.

It’s hard to explain, but my lipstick doesn’t ‘feel right’ when I don’t use it.

Benefit Eye Bright

This is what Benefit says:

Apply to the inner and outer corners of your eyes and blend. Application from the inner corner of the eye to the brow bone will give the corner a lift. Application on the inner corner of the eye will open up the eyes for a wide-awake look.

I don’t use it that way, I mean, I’ve tried to, but I either blend it to vanishing point or it looks a bit too obvious.

It’s a creamy textured, pinky white colour. You’d be surprised at how flattering it is on the waterline. White looks too harsh and unnatural. Keep it in the fridge in the summer as the stick is so soft. When you sharpen it, carefully dispose of the shavings as they tend to stick to everything.

Benefit Eye Bright
I use it only the middle part of my waterline, a trick an actor friend told me about. You really do need to practise if you’re placing it there though, as it needs to fade off either side. If it strays onto your eyelashes, it looks horrible and is tricky to ‘pick’ off. I also carry it with me during the day for touch ups as I find it wears off really quickly on me.

I bought one last Friday at Boots in Brent Cross and fretted when I didn’t see it on display. The sales assistant found (just) one in the back of a drawer, I hope it’s not going to be discontinued otherwise it means I’ll be reduced to paying extortionate sums for more on Ebay (don’t care, worth it).
