Where to Buy Luxury Sized Beauty Samples
The problem with beauty samples is that often they’re just too small to adaquately test. Promoted as a ‘try before you buy’ website, Latest in Beauty offers ‘luxury’ sized samples.
Little Beauty Box
Three free, teeny samples, we’re talking about anything from a 1ml to a 15ml sachet. The larger ones are mostly shampoos (though the 15ml tube of Q10 Gel by Nivea for Men seems like a bargain). It’s usually from a choice of 15 companies you’ve actually heard of, not some obscure brand trying to break into the UK market (hello Glossybox!).
You only pay for postage and packing which is £1.50 via text. My only problem with this is that the packaging is easily opened and I’ve not always received everything I ordered. It feels petty to argue about a missing 1ml sample, but the £1.50 IS for post and packaging so the company should fulfill its obligation. I had a moan via email to them but my heart wasn’t in it for such a little thing, plus they spouted some waffle about securing future packages sent to me, which didn’t happen.
This is definitely worth investigating. The amounts are still not enough to assess thoroughly, but if you’re interested in a product you’ve heard about that’s expensive or you want something to take on holiday or slip into your handbag, then this is for you. There’s a wide variety on offer, everything from hair to skincare.
You have to register* and log in before you can purchase the samples, so I’ve screen capped the ones I think are the most interesting. The selection does change regularly, this is how I was introduced to the Skin Doctor brand and I went on to buy two full-sized products.
*I’m going to assume you’ve set up an email address specifically for online shopping, competitions, blog follows (aherm!), giveaways etc. I was told that an email or mobile number is potentially worth anything from 10p to 50p to a marketing company and that a land line telephone number can pull in up to £2.00. Something to keep in mind next time you fill in a form online.
Luxury Samples are larger sized samples that allow you to try each product for a little bit longer before deciding if it works for you. In order to ensure as many people can try these products as possible, you can only order one of each sample.
“You can only order one of each sample”, but there’s nothing to stop you opening a second account for a ‘friend’.
Useful for touch ups on the go and that streaky patch you’ve only just noticed…
I’ve always wanted to try this, but I’ve been put off by some of the vastly conflicting reviews. I didn’t want to try it enough to pay the full price, so £4 seems reasonable.
Gorgeous colour, especially for short nails. My boys describe it as ‘Mortuary Grey’ but there’s a very definite pinky tinge which softens out the hard grey.
Talking of nails, there are loads of stunning nail polish blogs out there but the best of the best is Scrangie – Crystal clear photos of the polishes and short, sharp descriptions.
Not used these before, but I really like the sound of these little swabs, plus it’s a good price for 24 applications as well.
Certainly the best hand cream I’ve ever used AND instant results.
Award winning face mask which cleanses, exfoliates, soothes and softens raw, red skin even though it seems from the fairly strong medicinal scent as if it would strip it dry!
This is a lot like Glossybox, but you can see the contents beforehand. There’s a variety of themes ranging from Mother & Baby, Beauty From Within, Complexion Perfection etc. They do change, there was a Bridal Box not long ago which has gone and the first box I bought was an anti-ageing one, which contained lovely and unusual goodies ranging from creams to anti-ageing drinks. These would make great gifts as well.
